04 JunHow much should everything cost?
There needs to be a guideline, what is a good deal and what is a rip off?
Your budget is your guideline. Creating a budget is the ultimate starting point to financially set the tone for your wedding spending. Your budget s where you decide how much things should cost for you. What you get for a $5,000 wedding is much less than a $25,000 wedding but it may be just fine for you.
For your larger purchases such as the caterer, flowers or facility rental, you need at least a couple of prices for comparison. Commonly, if the service is the same, the prices will be similar. This gives you a baseline against which you can decide to increase or decrease your budget. Some things just cost a certain price – you won’t get a great three course meal for $10 a head.
Once you have a couple of quotes, compare them side-by-side and determine if they are actually the same. Before you decide on important items such as caterer, see if you can try at least a small sample of their work. Price is not the sole criteria for selecting the right business.
